About The Position

Wachter is seeking a Low Voltage Field Installation Technician for a temporary engagement from May 18th - July 31st 2026. This role involves performing new installs and providing technical escalation support both on-site at customer locations as well as remotely via the phone and specialized tools. The technician will be responsible for installing high-volume Cat6A, troubleshooting and repairing cabling systems and equipment, running low voltage and composite cable in a medical facility, and installing and rack-mounting network switches. Maintaining clean and organized pathways by dressing, labeling, and managing cables within racks and closets is also a key responsibility. The role requires completing all wiring, connections, and equipment installations to ensure total customer satisfaction and contractual requirements. The technician will also assist and collaborate with the Installation Team Lead or Project Manager regarding on-site work schedules and timely delivery of equipment, and conduct tests to ensure all newly installed systems and component devices are operational. Troubleshooting new system installations to ensure proper functioning and compliance with codes and requirements is essential.

Requirements

  • Field installation experience in the Low Voltage Industry
  • Experience reading blueprints and site maps
  • Experience with testers
  • Excellent customer relationship and communication skills; verbal and written
  • Has basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
  • Computer/laptop/smartphone proficiency
  • Highly proficient with the use of email, spreadsheets, and the ability to learn internal systems
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with fiber optics & ability to splice is a plus
  • Able to drill concrete walls and completing conduit work is a plus
  • OSHA 10 a plus

Responsibilities
