About The Position

Responsible for performing maintenance and safety procedures on low and high voltage switchgear systems. Ensures compliance with electrical safety standards, proper lockout/tagout procedures, and safe operation of electrical equipment in a controlled work environment.

Requirements

Experience performing maintenance on low and high voltage switchgear systems.
Knowledge of lockout and tagout procedures and associated safety requirements.
Understanding of electrical equipment construction, operation, and hazard identification.
Knowledge of shock and arc-flash protection boundaries and appropriate PPE selection.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
Experience installing and removing temporary protective grounding.
Understanding of isolation processes and electrical permit-to-work requirements.
Knowledge of electrical testing procedures and safety verification methods.

Nice To Haves

Experience with electrical testing equipment and safety validation procedures.
Familiarity with site safety standards and electrical compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

Analyze risks and prepare lockout/tagout plans and checklists based on work permits.
Identify equipment to be isolated for maintenance activities.
Apply locks and tags to energy isolation devices and manage group lockout procedures.
Ensure safe storage and tagging of removed fuses and update documentation accordingly.
Verify absence of voltage before starting work using approved methods.
Establish safe work zones with barriers and warning signage.
Apply temporary grounding or earthing devices where required.
Participate in pre-job briefings and safety walkthroughs.
Remove locks, tags, and restore equipment after job completion.
Inspect work areas to ensure safety and readiness before re-energizing systems.
Maintain and update lockout/tagout documentation and directories.
