Lounge Host/Hostess
About The Position
The Lounge Host/Hostess is responsible for seating guests and documenting guest covers according to procedures. This role is accountable for directing personnel in Oma’s, the Dining Room, and the Lounge, ensuring an ideal dining environment is maintained. The host/hostess ensures wait staff provides proper service, engages with guests when time permits, and promotes menus and specials. They are also responsible for the proper and efficient setup and teardown of the dining area, ensuring clean, organized, and sanitary working conditions and products. Additionally, the role involves taking reservations for Oma’s Restaurant, overseeing Brunch and handling reservations on special holidays, helping to control labor expenses and overtime, performing take-out and room service orders, and being able to work as a server when needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Pleasing personality, well-groomed and neat appearance.
- Ability to resolve service problems on one's own initiative.
- Knowledge of the area, local attractions, and the history of the town and the restaurant.
- Smiles.
- Able to stand all day and lift trays to carry to the Kitchen.
- Able to give direction to staff.
- Able to work with money to server bank.
Responsibilities

- Assuring that an ideal dining environment is maintained.
- Ensuring the wait staff is providing proper service.
- Talking to the guest when time permits; promoting menus and specials.
- Assuring proper and efficient setup and teardown of dining area.
- Assuring clean, organized, and sanitary working conditions and products.
- Taking reservations for Oma’s Restaurant and logging them in the reservation book.
- Overseeing Brunch and handling reservations on special holidays.
- Helping to control labor expenses and overtime by keeping staff productive.
- Performing take out and room service orders.
- Working as a server when needed.
