About The Position

The Illinois Lottery is seeking to hire a Lottery Sales Representative with the Sales Division. The individual in this position will work independently in a specified route, providing in-person customer service, guidance and direction to Lottery retailers to ensure they receive the full benefits of selling Lottery tickets. Requirements

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with courses in Marketing, Public Relations, or Business Administration.
Requires two (2) years progressively responsible experience in marketing, sales, or a promotional field.
Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
Requires the ability to travel in the performance of duties.
Requires possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
Requires the ability to utilize agency issued equipment, i.e. cell phone and tablet.
Must live within 25 miles of Taylorville, Oakland, Marshall to the Indiana border, Hillsboro, and Brownstown areas.

Responsibilities

Distributes Lottery promotional materials to Lottery retailers in Territory 406, which encompasses Taylorville, Oakland, Marshall to the Indiana border, Hillsboro, and Brownstown areas.
Evaluates performance of licensed retailers to ascertain compliance with Department policies and procedures.
Reports all sales activities and plans to supervisor and Private Manager.
Provides assistance to retailers regarding installation and upkeep of Lottery equipment and products.
Attends staff meetings to keep apprised of new developments and sales promotions.
Assists in calling on potential new retailers in their territory that have been identified by Lottery management.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonable within the scope of duties enumerated above.
