About The Position

This role is a full-time, permanent position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dealership lot and facilities. The Lot Porter will manage heavy-duty trucks, ensure the lot is tidy, assist with vehicle intake, perform minor building maintenance, and ensure vehicle security. The Facilities Technician aspect involves maintaining lobby cleanliness, directing janitorial staff, performing floor care, making minor repairs (carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing), managing supplies, and setting up event spaces. The position requires adherence to all safety protocols and clear communication.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 3 Driver’s License preferred (or Class 5 with willingness to obtain Class 3)
  • Experience operating heavy-duty or commercial vehicles safely in a yard or service environment
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors year-round and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong safety mindset and situational awareness around moving equipment
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • More the two (2) years’ experience in building maintenance
  • Ability to use wide range of tools and equipment to repair and maintained building
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-motivated

  • Experience working in a dealership, transportation, or fleet setting is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Move and organize heavy-duty trucks (Class 5, 6, 7, 8)
  • Maintain a clean and organized lot, including snow removal, debris pickup, and sweeping
  • Assist with vehicle intake and staging for service appointments
  • Perform Inactive Vehicle Maintenance on stock trucks.
  • Support service staff by delivering vehicles or picking up supplies
  • Minor building maintenance items.
  • Ensure all vehicles are secure, tagged, and parked according to dealership standards
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures when operating or working around large commercial vehicles
  • Communicate clearly with service writers
  • Daily Safety Walk
  • Ensures lobby is clean and well maintain
  • Directs janitorial staff to cleans offices, hallways, restrooms, stairways and windows and dust.
  • Uses brooms, mops, and floor equipment to sweep, mop, strip and wax floors when required
  • Uses vacuum cleaners to clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and blinds
  • Directs janitorial staff to dust furniture and equipment
  • Makes minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical and plumbing repairs
  • Directs janitorial staff to empty wastebaskets
  • Replenishes restroom supplies
  • Replaces light bulbs
  • Sets up and tears down chairs, tables and equipment in meeting rooms, and function rooms
  • Clears debris, trash and dirt from entrances and walkways
  • Purchases supplies and materials for the shop
  • Picks up and delivers supplies and materials to rooms
  • Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures
