About The Position

The Pfister Hotel is seeking a Loss Prevention/Security Officer to join their team. This role is integral in creating a safe and comfortable environment for guests and associates by detecting suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, thefts, or other unlawful activities. The Pfister Hotel is a historic luxury hotel in downtown Milwaukee with a long-standing reputation for gracious service and impeccable style.

Requirements

• Knowledge of security and law enforcement practices preferred.
• Prior hospitality, guest service and/or security experience preferred.
• Ability to establish and maintain an effective relationship with all department management, staff, personnel, and general public.
• Ability to read/write in English.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must work well both independently and with others as a team player and under pressure.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety for guests and associates while protecting property and assets.
• Patrol premises on foot.
• Operate a dispatch center with responsibilities for key control, fire alarm monitoring, and closed circuit television monitoring, answering routine and emergency calls for service, and dispatching call for service.
• Perform proactive and professional security, safety, and loss prevention practices.
• Investigate situations and conditions and write reports as necessary.
• Meet, greet, and assist guests and associates as needed in a professional and calm manner.
• Witness cash drops and monitor cameras.
• Perform lost and found functions.
• Assist in other areas as needed.
