The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for patrolling all areas of the property, assisting guests with room access, and monitoring various security systems including Closed Circuit Televisions, perimeter alarm systems, duress alarms, and fire life safety systems. This role involves securing property entrances, conducting daily physical hazard inspections, and responding to accidents by administering first aid/CPR or contacting EMS as needed. The officer will assist guests and employees during emergencies, notify appropriate individuals of incidents, and de-escalate guest/employee disturbances, calling for outside assistance when necessary. A key part of the role is completing incident reports to document all security and loss prevention related incidents, handling interruptions and complaints, and resolving safety hazard situations. The officer will escort unwelcome persons from the property and respond to scenes of vehicle accidents/thefts, using proper code responses for assistance. A daily activity report must be completed, and all security/loss prevention information must be kept confidential. The role also includes conducting investigations, gathering evidence, and interviewing relevant parties. Additionally, the officer must follow all company policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training, maintain a professional appearance, protect company assets, and provide excellent guest service. This includes welcoming guests, anticipating needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and maintaining positive working relationships. The position requires the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, read and visually verify information, inspect equipment, use computers, move at a speed required for work situations, and handle objects of varying weights. Performing other reasonable duties as requested by supervisors is also part of the role.
