About The Position

Goodwill Industries of Kansas is seeking a Loss Prevention Investigator/Safety professional to play a key role in furthering their vision and mission in their risk management department. The purpose of this position is to ensure a safe and secure environment for both customers and employees, while protecting the organization’s assets. This role will work proactively to reduce losses from internal and external theft, and will be responsible for monitoring retail locations and investigating theft incidents. The position will collaborate with leadership to improve safety and prevent loss.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a mobile device and maintain it in operating order within carrier's maintenance capabilities.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years retail loss prevention experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains active presence in retail locations to reduce losses from theft.
  • Maintains a safe working environment.
  • Maintains professional demeanor while interacting with employees, customers and stakeholders.
  • Maintains CARF Compliance.
  • Maintains ISO compliance/certification.
  • Displays commitment and involvement towards Goodwill’s mission.
  • Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors in everything he/she does and assists store leadership in maintaining a safe and secure environment for both employees and customers.
  • Prevents losses from external theft by responding to shoplifters and recover merchandise when possible.
  • Works in cooperation with the Director of Corporate Risk Management, Goodwill Leadership team and other appropriate agencies to main workplace safety and prevent losses from theft and fraud.
  • Identifies and communicates possible safety issues to leadership.
  • Monitors retail locations remotely via CCTV.
  • Increases store awareness of effective processes to minimize operational shortage.
  • Trains and educates employees on shortage reduction initiatives.
  • Works effectively and productively as a team member.
  • Keeps others informed as needed.
  • Maintains effective and professional verbal and written interactions with peers, customers, supervisors and other staff.
  • Provides clear, written incidents reports as needed.
  • Demonstrates the ability and willingness to handle new assignments, changes in procedures and business requirements.
  • Work with individuals who have disabilities and or barriers to employment and participate in the achievement of their goals.
  • Demonstrate a positive, role model.
