About The Position

TJX Companies is seeking a Loss Prevention Detective for their HomeGoods store in Burlington, VT. This role is responsible for executing daily tasks related to store loss prevention and safety programs, maintaining positive relationships with store management, and conducting apprehensions within established policies. The detective will also communicate with store associates on damage and shrink initiatives, identify and resolve internal and external theft, and adhere to shoplifter guidelines. A key aspect of the role involves providing excellent customer service, promoting a culture of honesty and integrity, and maintaining confidentiality. The detective will observe, apprehend, and deter dishonesty from outside sources, participate in investigations and surveillance, and ensure apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity. Accurate and timely paperwork, evidence maintenance, and understanding of law enforcement procedures are crucial. The role also involves coordinating shrink-related activities with store management, adhering to labor laws, and supporting store shrink reduction goals and programs.

Responsibilities

Completes the daily tasks required for Store Loss Prevention and safety programs.
Maintains positive relationships with Store Management.
Conducts apprehensions within established policies and guidelines.
Communicates with store Associates on damage and shrink initiatives.
Identifies and resolves internal and external theft.
Adheres to established shoplifter guidelines and policies.
Provides timely, courteous and knowledgeable service to customers.
Promotes a culture of honesty and integrity; maintains confidentiality.
Observes, apprehends, and/or deters any acts of dishonesty from outside sources.
Participates in investigations and surveillance as assigned.
Ensures apprehensions are consistent with store theft activity.
Completes and distributes paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintains appropriate evidence, demonstrates understanding of law enforcement procedures and professionally participates in legal activities as needed (e.g., police calls, etc.).
Coordinates and complete shrink related activities in partnership with Store Management.
Adheres to all labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Supports and participates in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
Encourages Associate use of shrink reduction resources.
Promotes safety awareness and supports maintenance of a safe environment.
