Requirements

• College graduate with strong communication and relationship skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong computer system skills.

Nice To Haves

• Preferably Civil, Construction, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering degree
• Degree from an accredited engineering program is desired although relevant industry experience will be considered.
• Some prior experience with insurance loss control would provide a background in risk assessment concepts and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• On-site surveys (45%) and risk evaluation (25%) of existing and prospective Starr Tech clients, compiling critical technical data/best practices (20%), and attending client meetings (10%)
• Conduct risk assessments for small, medium and large projects of varying risk classifications (buildings, civil infrastructure, energy, chemical, petrochemical, process industries)
• Produce narrative risk assessment loss control internal reports for the underwriting team and external risk reports for the client and/or follow insurers.
• Conduct plan reviews and provide guidance to underwriting staff as respects risk quality / insurability.
• Maintain up-to-date loss control systems (ELCS) data.
