About The Position

Milliken & Company is a global manufacturing leader focused on materials science. This role involves performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on weaving machinery to ensure optimal performance and quality. The technician will be responsible for routine maintenance, rebuilding components, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with management and other technicians. Safety is a primary concern, and adherence to all plant safety rules and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must have basic math and computer skills.
  • Must be cleared by Occupational Nurse for vision and color vision.
  • Follow all Safety Rules, and comply with the Job Safety & Health Analysis (JSHA).
  • All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be used as required.
  • Any accident or near miss must be reported immediately.

Nice To Haves

  • Competency testing may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on filling motions, cam boxes, sub nozzles, air valves, let-offs, and take-ups.
  • Perform 6000-hour maintenance.
  • Work on chronic looms as assigned by management.
  • Repair and clean out damaged/dirty cam boxes.
  • Rebuild brake clutches, filling motions, and other parts as needed.
  • Work on special projects as requested by management.
  • Advise management of parts that need to be ordered to make repairs.
  • Advise management of potential problems affecting the overall performance of the Weave Room (parts needed, problem machines, warp issues, quality, etc.).
  • Assist other Technicians, when needed, on breakdowns and style changes.
  • Write current shift number on cloth while inspecting fabric for defects at the start of the shift.
  • Follow all established Plant Safety rules.
  • Perform all other duties as directed by management.
