About The Position

The Loom Technician is responsible for setting machines to proper specifications to ensure the production of first-quality goods. This role involves maintaining assigned weave machines, diagnosing and correcting mechanical issues, and adhering to all plant safety rules and procedures. The technician will also complete daily team maintenance, audit safety items, and assist weavers during breaks.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and follow directions
  • Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions
  • Basic Math (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Attention to Detail-Thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task ensuring all aspects are reviewed.
  • Adaptability-Adapts to change in the work environment
  • Ability to identify and classify chronic machine problems
  • Must be able to lift machine parts and materials (1-40 lbs) daily.
  • Must be able to push toolbox throughout the plant.
  • Must be able to see defects in fabric. Numbers on weave machines, gauges and feeler gauge.
  • Must comply with the Company rules, including but not limited to Safety, Attendance, and other job specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of all general plant safety rules & absolutes.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner.
  • Meet production goals set-out by department manager.
  • Follow proper policies and procedures and job specifications set out by department and location.
  • Knowledge of technician policies and procedures
  • Completing Daily Team Maintenance (DTM) activities
  • Auditing safety items in the department
  • Maintain an assigned set of weave machines
  • Set machine to proper machine specs and ensure machines run according to style specification
  • Diagnoses problems with assigned set of weave machines
  • Correct mechanical issues on assigned set of weave machines
  • Relief weave for Weavers breaks
