About The Position

This is an experienced-level position in underground mining operations. The operator provides direct support for the safe operation and maintenance of mining equipment and general labor across underground operations. The role is responsible for producing coal safely and efficiently, or assisting with production in general work areas, while complying with company policies and regulatory requirements. The operator must respond effectively to changing mine conditions, work safely as part of a team, and help uphold the company's safety culture.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Pennsylvania Experienced Miner Certificate required.
• Machine Runners Certificate required.
• At least two years of proven experience safely and proficiently working as a Longwall Systems Operator.
• Experience operating a Joy 7LS shearer, PMCR-controlled shields, and Line Power head gate master control boxes.
• Experience navigating longwall equipment through adverse geology conditions.
• Ability to perform heavy work, which may include lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling, climbing, shoveling, walking, or prying.
• Ability to work on or near moving equipment as required.
• Ability to understand and grasp mining concepts and safety strategies.
• Ability to work as scheduled and assigned and safely and effectively as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or state-certified GED.
• Supervisory or management skills and experience.
• Specialty certification or experience.
