The Spanish substitute teacher has the primary responsibility of planning for and teaching Spanish language courses in alignment with the high school curricular objectives set forth in the Diocesan Course of Study with an emphasis on language proficiency as defined by the State of Ohio. Additionally, the Spanish teacher has the responsibility of evaluating and reporting for all students in his or her classes. He or she will be responsible for establishing positive, encouraging, and appropriate relationships with students in which they are both held to high standards and supported in their attempts to meet them. He or she has a passion for the Spanish language and culture, effective professional skills, a positive, team-centered personality, and a dedication to life-long learning. He or she will work with other teachers and staff as a contributing team member to create and maintain a cooperative and positive school environment. The Spanish teacher collaborates with other staff to meet the needs of all students, attend to the diverse educational backgrounds of all students, and overcome instructional challenges constructively.
