About The Position

This is a long-term substitute teaching position for 5th-grade Math at Consentino Middle School. The role involves instructional, curriculum, and general duties as assigned by the Principal, Supervisor, and Superintendent. The substitute will work cooperatively with colleagues, administrators, and parents/guardians, and will substitute daily for absent professional staff. Maintaining a safe and positive learning environment, respecting confidentiality, and adhering to district policies are key aspects of the role. The substitute will also provide summaries of activities and lesson plans to the regular classroom teacher.

Requirements

Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education – preferred
Non-Certified Teachers, include individuals with a minimum of an Associate Degree or who have completed two years of college (60 credits).
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

Responsible for instructional, curriculum and general duties as indicated by the Principal, Supervisor, and directives of the Superintendent.
Works cooperatively with colleagues, administrators and parents/guardians.
Substitute daily for absent professional staff as determined by the Principal/designee.
Maintains and respects confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
Must possess the ability to adapt to a variety of lesson plans when covering various subjects or grades.
Provides summary of activities accomplished, lesson plans completed and not completed and any other additional information that the classroom teacher should be aware of.
Maintains a safe and positive learning environment for all students and reports all student discipline issues to the appropriate authority.
Adheres to district policies for staff.
Annually completes the appropriate staff training and Substitute Handbook.
Performs other duties assigned by the Principal or directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
