About The Position

KIPP Public Schools Northern California is seeking dedicated educators to join their thriving network of free, public charter schools. This role involves teaching elementary school students, bringing to life the academic and cultural visions of the schools. Key responsibilities include daily lesson planning, intentional curriculum design, and regular data analysis to foster student learning and growth. The position also requires the implementation of Social Emotional Learning lessons and Restorative Practices to cultivate a joyful and inclusive classroom environment. Teachers will collaborate closely with the school's Leadership Team and Instructional Coach, participating in weekly meetings and receiving ongoing feedback to enhance instructional practices. A strong commitment to anti-racism is essential, involving ongoing development, reflection on personal identities and experiences, and the analysis of school systems, academics, and culture to promote equity and address community needs.

Requirements

  • Experience as an educator teaching students with similar demographics to KIPP Public Schools Northern California student community
  • Hold a B.A/B.S degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Need to obtain an Emergency 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit
  • Commitment to KIPP mission and vision
  • Commitment to being an anti-racist educator
  • Believe all students can achieve at the highest academic levels
  • Possess strong content area knowledge
  • Strong skills building relationships with students, families, and communities
  • Communicate well with students, families, and colleagues
  • Proficient knowledge of Google Suite applications (Google Classroom, Hangout, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.)
  • Ability to learn and utilize instructional technology to support in-class and distance learning when needed (i.e. Zoom, Nearpod)

  • Work closely with the school’s Leadership Team, including their Instructional Coach

  • Engage in ongoing development to reflect on own identities and experiences
  • Regularly analyze school systems, academics, culture, data etc. to reflect on progress towards being an anti-racist organization and to make changes to address the needs of the community
