About The Position

This role involves the instruction and supervision of students, teaching district-approved curriculum, and implementing Michigan State Standards through effective instructional practices. The teacher will be responsible for creating a positive classroom environment conducive to learning, utilizing research-based strategies, and effectively using assessments to drive instruction. Collaboration and communication with all stakeholders are key components of this position. Additionally, the role includes monitoring hallways and school grounds, participating in after-school and extra-curricular activities, maintaining accurate records, and engaging in professional development.

Requirements

  • Social Studies Endorsement (RX) for appropriate grade levels preferred

Responsibilities

  • Instruction and supervision of all students
  • Teach district-approved curriculum
  • Provide a clear purpose for instruction through high student engagement, a knowledge of the curriculum and pedagogy, and use of research-based strategies
  • Understand all forms of assessment and how to use these assessments to drive instruction
  • Provide a positive classroom environment and culture that is conducive for all students to learn
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with all stakeholders involved
  • Implement Michigan State Standards through effective instructional practices
  • Work as a team member to help our students build success stories
  • Help monitor hallways and school grounds
  • Be involved in after-school and extra-curricular activities
  • Keep accurate classroom records and communicate effectively
  • Attend conferences and workshops to keep current on professional development
  • Work as a collaborative team member looking to grow as an educator and teacher
