About The Position
Job Goal: To provide support to classroom teacher(s) by assisting students with disabilities and/or behavioral challenges. The position focuses on promoting positive student behavior, implementing behavior management strategies, and supporting students in developing the skills necessary for success in the classroom. Temporary Assignment: ASAP to December Monday-Friday: 7 hours
Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teacher(s) in implementing accommodations, modifications, and behavior intervention plans aligned with students' individual needs.
- Support students in developing self-regulation, social, and problem-solving skills.
- Reinforce positive behaviors and apply consistent behavioral supports under teacher or specialist guidance.
- Collect data on student behaviors and progress as directed.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with staff to support the implementation of strategies that promote student engagement and access to the general curriculum.
