About The Position

At Campus Adventures Staffing Solutions, our Guest Teachers have an amazing opportunity to impact a child's future. Join our energetic and knowledgeable team this fall semester and grow with us. We are seeking dedicated and reliable substitute teachers to join our team for daily and long-term classroom assignments within a charter school network in the San Antonio area. As a substitute teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a positive and productive learning environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Your responsibilities include delivering lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and ensuring a smooth continuation of the curriculum. Long-term opportunities may arise throughout the year based on campus needs. Additional expectations for long-term assignments may include maintaining consistent routines, supporting classroom technology, and assisting with extended instructional duties.

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; higher education in education or related field is a plus
• Ability to pass a background check
• Strong writing, reading and communication skills in English
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain discipline.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work in different grade levels and subject areas.
• Prior experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry 40 Lbs
• Be able to remain active for up to 8 hours consecutively, and have the ability to kneel, crouch, or sit comfortably
• Visually and audibly able to monitor the classrooms and students and navigate for emergencies.
• Have the physical ability to perform CPR

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in childcare, early childhood education, tutoring, or related fields is preferred
• Familiarity with math, literacy education, and lesson planning is beneficial
• Experience working with students of various ages and abilities, including preschool and special education students, is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and guidance to students in the absence of the regular teacher
• Follow lesson plans and ensure continuity of learning
• Maintain a safe and positive classroom environment
• Implement classroom management strategies to promote student engagement and behavior management
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of students
• Collaborate with other staff members to support student success
• Provide feedback to the regular classroom teacher regarding student progress and any issues that arise during your assignment.
• Complete all training required by TEA.
