Long-Term Substitute Head Start Teacher
About The Position
Cross Country Education is seeking a caring and dedicated Long-Term Substitute Head Start Teacher in Chester, PA to lead a preschool classroom and provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment throughout the 2026–2027 school year. The role involves planning and delivering developmentally appropriate instruction and activities for preschool-aged children, leading daily classroom instruction, routines, and learning experiences while maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. Responsibilities also include maintaining accurate student records, documentation, and progress data, and partnering with families through meetings, conferences, and ongoing communication regarding student development.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field
- Valid Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Certification for Pre-K–Grade 4 or equivalent early childhood certification
- Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certification
- Ability to complete required background checks and training
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with preschool-aged children
- Head Start or early childhood classroom experience preferred
