About The Position

This is a long-term substitute counselor position at West Lafayette Junior-Senior High School. The role involves providing short-term academic, college/career, and social-emotional counseling services to students in the absence of the regular school counselor. The position supports academic tracking, scheduling inquiries, student progress monitoring, and assists with student support processes, Section 504 accommodations, and testing logistics. The substitute counselor will also respond to student crises, provide intervention, and maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (minimum)
• Valid Indiana School Counselor License
• Displays excellent communication skills and professional demeanor

Nice To Haves

• Master's Degree in School Counseling preferred
• Experience working in a school environment preferred
• Ability to utilize student data to design interventions and foster academic achievement
• Exceptional interpersonal, crisis intervention, and communication skills
• Jr.-Sr. High School or Secondary experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Responds to student crises and provide intervention, collaborating with administration, staff, and families as appropriate
• Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation of student interactions during the coverage period
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Administration
