About The Position

This is a Long-term substitute posting for a Grade 6 Math Teacher at the Linden S.T.E.A.M Academy, a K-8 school within the Malden Public School District. The school focuses on personalized learning through small group, differentiated instruction, and project-based learning (PBL) to prepare students for college and careers. Students have access to STEM classes in a new Makerspace and Robotics lab. The school fosters a partnership between home, school, and community to develop students into collaborators, critical thinkers, communicators, creators, and global citizens. All students participate in a yearly Exhibition Night and Presentations of Learning. The school utilizes the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) model to promote social and emotional growth, emphasizing safety, respect, and responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Teach Grade 6 Math as a long-term substitute.
• Provide a personalized learning experience using small group, differentiated instruction, and project-based learning (PBL).
• Inspire students towards becoming college and career ready.
• Facilitate student participation in STEM classes, Makerspace, and Robotics lab.
• Conduct Presentations of Learning to demonstrate student understanding and growth.
• Support students' social and emotional growth using the PBIS model.

Benefits

• Pay rate increase to $210/day after a 30-day probationary period for eligible substitutes.
• Potential to maintain per diem rate for subsequent long-term assignments if started within a month.
