Bayside Dredging - Long Reach Excavator Operator Position
About The Position
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Long Reach Excavator Operator to join Bayside Dredging, a leading dredging company in the state of Florida. The role involves operating an excavator in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring no injury or damage occurs, and adhering to all health and safety policies. Responsibilities include daily equipment maintenance, inspections, minor repairs, cleaning, fluid checks, and greasing. The operator will work in various environments such as dry, wet, and marshy areas, and will assist with the mobilization and demobilization of construction sites. The position requires travel within Florida for extended periods and the ability to work independently while also collaborating with site supervisors and team members.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience operating an excavator
- Must be able to travel for days to months at a time in Florida
- Enjoy working as part of a team
- MUST be motivated and able to work independently
- Excavator experience is required
- A valid driver's license must be maintained throughout employment
Nice To Haves
- Working near waterways/marshy environments is a plus
- Previous dredging experience a plus
- OSHA Certification a plus
Responsibilities
- Able to Operate an excavator in a safe and efficient manner
- Not to injure anyone or cause damage to buildings, structures, or other equipment
- Must adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures
- Completion of Daily Equipment Maintenance Logs and submitting them to the supervisor at the end of each shift
- Daily inspections of the equipment
- Ability to make minor repairs
- Cleaning the equipment
- Checking fluids
- Greasing all necessary areas
- Operating an excavator efficiently in dry, wet and marsh types of environments
- Assisting with Mobilization and Demobilization of our construction sites is required
- Assisting with miscellaneous laborer or other duties as needed
- Follow instructions and directions from the site supervisors
- Must be able to work well with others to get the job done right
