Long Haul Driver
About The Position
The Long Haul Driver delivers product from the manufacturing plant to customer sites on longer runs. The driver performs all duties safely and legally and is responsible for their own safety and the safety of employees around them. The role involves loading and unloading product using motorized pumps, driving a tractor-trailer between the plant and customer sites, and returning to the plant. The driver also fuels and maintains the truck, conducts inspections, keeps the vehicle clean and orderly, maintains accurate paperwork and daily logs, and keeps required truck permits current. Additional duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by the company.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CDL Class A license with HazMat and Tanker endorsements.
- One year of long-haul driving experience.
Responsibilities
- Deliver product from the manufacturing plant to customer sites on longer runs and return to the plant.
- Perform all duties in a safe and legal manner, taking responsibility for personal safety and the safety of employees nearby.
- Load and unload product using motorized pumps.
- Make necessary stops to fuel and maintain the truck.
- Perform pre-trip inspections.
- Keep the truck clean and orderly.
- Keep accurate, current paperwork.
- Maintain current permits required for the truck.
- Maintain accurate driver’s daily logs.
- Perform DOT vehicle inspections for air brakes, lights, and safety equipment.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the company.
