About The Position

This position serves as a sponsor for various school extra-curricular programs, specifically the LOMS 6th Grade Girls Basketball team. The coach is responsible for promoting the program, planning and organizing practices and meetings, teaching fundamental skills, ensuring participant eligibility, and acting as a positive role model for students. The role also involves recommending equipment purchases, maintaining a professional appearance and attendance, and adhering to school policies and ethical standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate or a minimum of 64 semester hours from an accredited college or university.
Successful completion a criminal records check.
Current certification in first aid and CPR.
Knowledge of fundamentals of various extra-curricular activities.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
Ability to read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Promote extra-curricular programs in the schools and community.
Plan the assigned extra-curricular program.
Organize and supervise practices and meetings.
Teach individual fundamental skills of the extra-curricular activity.
Check eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent.
Provide students a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
Recommend the purchase of equipment and supplies as appropriate for the health, safety, and welfare of participants.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Maintain a professional appearance.
Maintain regular attendance.
Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics.
Follow all McCracken County Public Schools Policies and Procedures.
