About The Position

The Logistics Transportation Manager will manage a major business process from factory export to North America, Samsung Warehouses (WHs) and Direct shipments to customer Distribution Centers (DCs). This role involves making business-related decisions that may be ambiguous and have a moderate to significant impact on business operations, financial results, and vendor relationships. The manager will oversee and measure logistics processes, support the team in identifying and resolving delivery issues, dispute invoices, manage rates and 3PLs, and maintain communication with various departments. Additionally, the role includes monthly forecasting, yard management, and resolving complex problems outside established procedures.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in supply chain management/Logistics, business or other related field
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Expertise with SAP (TMS, WMS, ERP)
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-look-ups, formulas, macros, etc.) and other Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • At least 8yr work experiences with supervisor managers skills
  • At least 5yr work Supply Chain

Responsibilities

  • Manage a major business process from factory export to North America, Samsung WHs and Direct shipments to customer DCs.
  • Make business related decisions involving multiple factors that may be ambiguous in nature.
  • Manage and measure logistics processes including; on-time export from factory, transloading, ETA, OTD & OTRQ management, demurrage & detention, carrier activity, POD verification, damaged products claims and Return Authorization request.
  • Support the team in identifying deliveries with Over, Short or Damaged [OSD] notations on the POD and work closely with Task Force to come-up with decision and solution.
  • Dispute invoices with backup evidence and negotiate with carriers.
  • Rates and 3PL management, KPI review, and performance analysis.
  • Maintain constant communication with supply chain planning and other logistics departments, including Sales team in advance solutions to issues for improvements. Both shipments to Samsung WHs and Direct shipments to customers DC.
  • Monthly forecast - analyze logistics environment such as rail and OTR, weather, carriers capacity, simulate and set monthly forecast target with Sales subsidiaries.
  • Yard management; manage Inbound and Outbound (loaded and emptied) containers movement to minimize aging.
  • Exercises judgment and makes decisions on business situations outside established procedures and approves exceptional cases.
  • Resolves problems of moderate to large scope where analysis of data requires the identification of obscure or undefined factors and decisions have significant impact on business performance.
