About The Position

The Logistics Technician is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and efficient operations within the General Stores and assigned 2-Bin inventory locations. This role involves picking, pulling, delivering, and restocking inventory, managing expired products, and utilizing inventory management systems. The technician will also be involved in receiving functions, ensuring chain of custody for shipments, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to established procedures are critical for success in this part-time position.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all assigned 2-Bin inventory locations, ensuring proper placement, organization, and adherence to standards.
  • Pick and pull regularly scheduled inventory to replenish assigned locations with 100% accuracy.
  • Deliver all 2-Bin replenishment orders to the appropriate locations.
  • Restock 2-Bins with picked items, perform inventory cycle counts for accuracy, and check for expired product, replacing as needed.
  • Perform supplement restocks when requested.
  • Pick up empty bins and product returns from assigned inventory locations and return them to General Stores.
  • Perform monthly 2-Bin inventory counts of designated locations.
  • Understand and use DemandTrack for assessing and tracking inventory velocity and usage, making PAR adjustment recommendations.
  • Use automation for General Stores cycle counts as scheduled by the Supply Chain Leader.
  • Use receiving and distribution chain of custody automation to document the chain of custody of all incoming shipments and outgoing General Stores issues.
  • Use automation to pick, issue, deliver, credit, and administer all General Stores product, including crash carts and other inventory locations.
  • Properly gather and remove product delivery skids and debris within the General Stores environment.
  • Rotate all inventory in assigned areas of the General Stores, ensuring a first expired, first out (FEFO) approach and registering expired product.
  • Manage assigned inventory locations, including inventory management, valuation levels, cycle counts, error rates, days on hand, and potential overstock/obsolete inventory.
  • Maintain a superior level of housekeeping in all areas of the General Stores, including breaking down dunnage and disposing of items not in assigned locations (with approval).
  • Maintain a superior level of cleanliness in personal or group work spaces, break areas, and equipment.
  • Perform regular cycle counts, maintaining a cycle count error rate of five percent (5%) or less, and implementing corrective actions for errors.
  • Carry and protect any assigned pager/portable telephone for expeditious response.
  • Maintain a monthly trend chart of total inventory valuation for assigned locations on the General Stores Quality Board.
  • Perform receiving functions for all incoming orders, reviewing for accuracy and correlation to PO and ship-to location.
  • Identify incoming quality issues and errors, interfacing with customer service representatives.
  • Perform all receiving functions via scanning technology and work standards.
  • Maintain a clean work environment daily, performing housekeeping functions and using visual management tools.
  • Deliver all inbound product received, including analysis and troubleshooting for improperly identified product.
  • Clean and disinfect patient care equipment according to Infection Control policies.
  • Perform inventory management and accurate pick process for all requisitioned inventory items, maintaining no more than five (5) days on hand for any SKU.
  • Pick and deliver all requisitioned orders or other product to the requester, utilizing bar code scanning for electronic signatures and confirmation.
  • Coordinate reviewing and obtaining all non-compliant product from green bins, transporting it back to General Stores and entering it into the database.
  • Return all General Stores equipment used for Distribution to General Stores.
  • Coordinate product returns from assigned requisitioning locations back to the General Stores.
  • Pick a minimum of 100 lines per hour (fully inclusive of pick, travel, and replenishment time), but no less than 60 lines per hour.
  • Pick all orders requested by unit department by time basis unless directed by lead in shift.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory picks and take responsibility for cycle count errors generated within their area of responsibility.
  • Develop a corrective action plan to mitigate cycle count errors and chart a trend chart of the cycle count error rate by quarter.
  • Be responsible for the inventory pick associated with all 2-Bin inventory locations assigned, including returning empty bins.
  • Use designated picking automation and associated process for all inventory picking/replenishment, tagging all product with appropriate stickers.
  • Release all picked orders using Lawson WH32.2 and sign paperwork.
  • Utilize and follow the process and procedures with the assigned velocity picking format to ensure proper utilization of inventory product.
  • Analyze the non-conforming product incident rate by SKU and make process improvement recommendations.
  • Maintain non-conforming green bins, placards, and laminated job aids in all assigned inventory locations.
  • Rotate all stock in respective inventory location bins or kardex, ensuring FEFO, and remove non-conforming product.
  • Pick up all non-conforming product from green bins at least weekly and transport to General Stores.
  • Communicate non-conforming clinical supply trend and analytical information to appropriate clinical leadership.
