About The Position

UT Southwestern is seeking an experienced Logistics Technician, Nights to join our Logistics team. This role is crucial for supporting exceptional patient care through reliable supply chain operations. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual with experience in hospital/healthcare logistics, supply chain, warehouse operations, inventory control, or healthcare materials management who thrives in fast-paced environments and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service. Please Note: This position is specifically for the Logistics Department and not Food Service Operations. The Logistics Technician is responsible for the efficient handling of goods and materials within the supply chain. Duties include managing inventory, warehousing, and distribution. Specific responsibilities may include processing orders and delivery requests, overseeing logistics functions, scanning and accounting for inventory, decontaminating used equipment, and coordinating transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods. The work location is CUH Logistics, Dallas Campus, with occasional travel transport to satellite locations when needed. This position requires working the Night Shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, and availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

  • Performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work in the logistics department Responsible for assembling, tracking, and restocking specialized equipment
  • Delivers and picks up dirty tray carts on each floor according to established policies and procedures Delivers patient trays in accordance with the 45 minute set standard for Room Service.
  • Participates in breaking down trayline and dishroom cleaning as outlined in time and duties. Collects, processes, and disposes, performs proper warewashing
  • Participates and completes all mandatory UT and Sodexo training (MyLearning, FOSS, ICARE, Walk the Talk, Food Safety, physical safety, TOPS, etc.)
  • Promptly alerts supervisor immediately of any issues with patients, equipment, or food. Follows up to ensure patient issue was resolved to patient satisfaction.
  • Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of food delivery carts and equipment for Room Service. Ensure Cart Cleaning Log is initialed. Alerts management of any issues.
  • Assures patient safety by adhering to the two patient ID method of verifying the MRN# and the patient's name on the medical ID bracelet. Verbally verifies patient name with patient and alerts nursing of insulin trays, diet office, and supervisor on duty if potential issues arise or the information does not correspond. Employee ensures they carry a spectraphone.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
