About The Position

This position is responsible for optimizing the transportation of goods by efficiently planning and organizing non-O’Reilly fleet shipments. Primary duties include planning, coordinating and monitoring the pickup and delivery of shipments. The Specialist will play a crucial role in the smooth and cost-effective operation of logistics and transportation services.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on excellent customer service
• High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer operations

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and logistics software
• Prior logistics and/or shipping/receiving experience

Responsibilities

• Utilize transportation management software to plan and optimize routes for shipments.
• Schedule and coordinate shipments to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
• Monitor transportation costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Resolve transportation-related issues, such as delays and route deviations.
• Process inquiries for rate estimates and service times.
• Perform freight cost analysis on transportation expenses for shipments and special projects.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, concerns and requests related to shipments.
• Collaborate with other departments to optimize supply chain operations.
• All other duties as assigned.
