About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Logistics Specialist to support customer warehouse operations and logistics lifecycle, including shipping, receiving, inventory accountability, storage, and distribution. The role involves secure handling of customer equipment and supplies, operating various vehicles, and maintaining security protocols. This position requires an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance.

Requirements

  • Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance required with adjudication within the last 5 years or designated CE and the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using MS- Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Logistics, warehouse, distribution operations or supply chain related experience.
  • Ability to operate a range of vehicles, including box trucks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.
  • Demonstrated dependability, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to accurately follow established procedures and directions to locate proper delivery destinations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • H.S diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 Years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Class A or B CDL or military equivalent, with 5 years of driving experience.
  • Must be able to pass a DOT Physical.
  • Thorough knowledge of DOT regulations on transportation.
  • Thorough knowledge of the safe operation of a range of vehicles and material handling equipment (i.e., cab-over, day cab, and conventional tractors; flatbed, lowboy, car carrier, 53 foot, and wide load trailers within the scope of the commercial Class A driver's license, with endorsements.

Responsibilities

  • Execute logistics and warehousing activities, including operating specialized software for procurement and inventory management.
  • Perform material handling, loading, unloading, moving, and sorting items for efficient workflow.
  • Ensure compliance with physical security guidelines and maintain the security of customer information.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.
  • Assist with inventory management and reconciliation of discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update inventories in Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).
  • Use Microsoft Office suite to produce reports on logistics activities.
  • Receive incoming shipments, verify accuracy against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Unload, unpack, and inspect materials for damage or discrepancies.
  • Package and document all materials, ensuring proper labeling and storage.
  • Safely and efficiently use Material Handling Equipment (MHE) such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Support additional warehouse and logistics tasks as assigned.
  • Perform transportation activities, including receiving trip assignments, performing vehicle safety inspections, and routine vehicle checks.
  • Assist with truck loading, ensuring adherence to weight distribution guidelines.
  • Drive trucks to designated local or nationwide delivery points.
  • Assist in identifying items requiring special handling at delivery points.
  • Unload trucks using various material handling equipment.
  • Assist with loading backhaul cargo, adhering to weight distribution guidelines.
  • Travel as needed (20-30%).
