About The Position

As a Logistics Specialist, you will serve as a critical operational partner supporting Zipline's maintenance hubs. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, accuracy, movement, and traceability of materials, parts, tools, and operational assets that enable safe and efficient maintenance operations. This role sits at the intersection of logistics, inventory management, maintenance operations, fleet management, quality, and supply chain. Success requires strong ownership, operational judgment, and the ability to solve problems in real time while balancing competing priorities. In addition to managing inventory and material flow, you will oversee hub-owned vehicle assets, ensuring fleet readiness, regulatory compliance, preventive maintenance execution, and cost-effective operation.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics, inventory management, fleet operations, supply chain, manufacturing, aviation maintenance, or related operational environments.
  • Experience managing inventory systems, ERP platforms, and asset tracking processes.
  • Working knowledge of fleet management practices, vehicle maintenance scheduling, and vendor coordination.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with maintenance, operations, quality, and supply chain teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a bias toward ownership and action.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving operational environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and inventory management systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift certification or material-handling equipment experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting aviation, aerospace, automotive, or industrial maintenance operations.
  • Experience with fleet management software or vehicle maintenance systems.
  • Knowledge of transportation, logistics, or asset management best practices.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
  • Familiarity with inventory traceability, quality control, and configuration management processes.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and process inbound materials, components, and consumables.
  • Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing lists, and engineering documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through disciplined ERP and inventory system transactions.
  • Execute cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure material traceability and configuration control requirements are met.
  • Support inventory replenishment strategies and maintain operational stock levels.
  • Deliver materials, tooling, and consumables to maintenance teams in support of daily operations.
  • Coordinate material flow to maintenance cells and work centers to prevent operational downtime.
  • Support kitting, replenishment, and material staging activities.
  • Serve as the primary logistics liaison for maintenance personnel and operational stakeholders.
  • Manage inventory and material availability for Zipping Point operations.
  • Track asset locations, inventory levels, and replenishment requirements.
  • Coordinate movement and deployment of operational equipment across sites.
  • Ensure accurate inventory records and asset accountability throughout the asset lifecycle.
  • Serve as the primary fleet manager for maintenance hub-owned vehicles, including: Vehicle registration and compliance tracking, Fuel card administration and reconciliation, Preventive maintenance scheduling and service interval management, Coordination of repairs and maintenance with external service providers, Vehicle utilization tracking and reporting, Fleet documentation management and record retention, Management of roadside assistance programs and vehicle incident reporting, Monitoring vehicle condition and recommending replacement or disposition actions.
  • Coordinate outbound shipments of parts, equipment, and assemblies.
  • Prepare materials for shipment and ensure proper documentation and packaging.
  • Partner with transportation providers to schedule and execute shipments.
  • Support expedited logistics activities as operational priorities require.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, material flow, fleet utilization, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures.
  • Support system implementations, testing, and process rollouts.
  • Drive operational excellence through data-driven problem solving and process improvement.
