About The Position

This role is responsible for managing inventory, assisting with purchasing tasks, and supporting the Shipping/Receiving area. The specialist will ensure accuracy and efficiency in inventory management, process purchase orders, communicate with suppliers, and coordinate freight transactions. The position also involves adhering to quality and safety standards, and potentially supervising interns.

  • At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain export authorizations.

Responsibilities

  • Manages inventory, including creating/organizing bin locations, ensuring orderliness and security, conducting inventory counts (daily cycle counts and annual inventory), developing and maintaining inventory metrics charts/graphs, developing plans and schedules for accountability, tracking inventory transactions for accounting accuracy, conducting monthly production pulls to support on-time delivery and forecast shortages, ensuring proper documentation retention, and cross-training to Shipping & Receiving roles.
  • Assists with purchasing tasks, including determining basis of award for returned quotes, creating purchase orders in SAP, communicating with suppliers, processing paperwork to add new suppliers, maintaining supplier records in SAP, working with Quality to maintain ISO purchasing documents, processing inventory pulls in SAP, and running SAP reports for projects.
  • Assists in the Shipping/Receiving area, including leading communications, scheduling and coordinating domestic and international freight forwarder transactions, ensuring freight forwarders are selected based on company objectives for cost and delivery, preparing shipping paperwork and completing shipping transactions, coordinating the Returned Material Authorization (RMA) process, preparing boxes with appropriate labels for shipment, and providing guidance to others in the Shipping/Receiving area.

  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned.
  • May participate in cross-functional teams and work groups.
  • May supervise interns as required.
