About The Position

The Warehouse Logistics Specialist is responsible for executing all operational activities within the warehouse including but not limited to operating power equipment, shipping, processing shipping orders, filling orders from stock, managing, organizing, and retrieving stock/picking, performing cycle count and space optimization tasks, loading, and unloading trucks. This individual has the responsibility and authority to carry out assigned tasks.

Requirements

  • Basic computer skills. MS Office & ERP needed
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift Certification required
  • Good oral, written & communication skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to handle / lift 70lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in processing of Government Contracts preferable
  • 1-3 years previous warehouse experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Execution of shipping product on government contracts and aftermarket orders.
  • Utilization of Government and Commercial Portals and Websites for shipping and logistic tasks.
  • Perform shipping tasks; prepares, verifies, and keeps records on outgoing shipments verifies identifying information, package counts and weights of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, orders, or other records.
  • Arrange with parcel and freight shipping carrier’s product pickups and schedules, generates bill of ladings.
  • Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates or as directed by government managed systems.
  • Processes & monitors shipments, generating labels & pack line scanning into systems such as MS NAV, Odyssey, RFID, VSM, WAWF and other systems as required, affixes shipping labels on packed cartons.
  • Traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments, initiates proof of delivery documents.
  • Submits shipment and contract information in government systems (WAWF) to process and obtain shipment documents.
  • Maintains department database and shipping files, enter and scanning completed documents into applicable ERP or storage system
  • Performs inventory adjustments for shipped product and misc.
  • Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or sit-down or stand-up forklifts in loading supplies and equipment.
  • Performs cycle-count, optimization tasks and controls inventory.
  • Assists in wrapping, staging & marking completed work pending shipment.
  • Communicate regularly with Manager to ensure that contract and customer deadlines being are met.
  • Maintain a professional and organized work area for cleanliness, organization and proper location of product and materials.
  • Support a safe work environment, using safety equipment, ensure safety equipment used in the areas is proper, safe, and used in a productive manner.
  • Awareness of the quality of work being performed and strive to ensure that it meets company standards and expectations.
  • Promote a positive culture and teamwork, motivate self and support others to accomplish important objectives in the work environment
  • Daily interaction with Manager and staff colleagues and contributes actively to achieving company and departmental goals.
  • Follow established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties and personnel backups as assigned and contributes to team effort
