About The Position

The Logistics Specialist provides space management, property management, and logistical support services to Court Services and Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA) Office of Facilities and program offices. The incumbent plans, initiates, and oversees moves within the agency; manages inventory of excess property; coordinates on-site document destruction; and supports procurement activities for logistical services. This position involves active physical work at multiple CSOSA locations across the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum Experience: four (4) years of experience performing logistics-type services.
  • Experience in logistical support to a federal agency strongly preferred.
  • Resume must specifically identify: the logistic services performed, specific duties, and dates of performance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and use of personal computers.
  • Ability to walk for extended periods at multiple CSOSA locations with multiple floors.
  • Ability to periodically bend and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, initiate, execute, and oversee office moves within the agency; maintain records and logs of all moves and work area modifications.
  • Assist with preparing cost estimates and budget tracking related to moving services for CSOSA.
  • Prepare work orders, statements of work, and other documents to obtain materials, labor, equipment, and funding for property management activities including shredding services, moving services, and storage services.
  • Work with CSOSA's Office of Facilities staff to monitor contractor performance on logistics service contracts including moving/storage and shredding services.
  • Maintain records and logs of property in storage including storage location, associated costs, and coordination for new storage space as needed.
  • Schedule, estimate costs for, and manage on-site performance of moving services.
  • Inspect work performed by contractors providing logistics services including moving, storage, and document shredding.
  • Review invoices for logistics services performed by contractors; identify discrepancies and coordinate resolution with COR.
  • Assist with physical inventories of CSOSA equipment and coordination of disposition of excess CSOSA property.
  • Coordinate on-site document destruction activities in accordance with applicable records management requirements.
  • Support other space management and logistics tasks as assigned by the COR.
