About The Position

Washington County is seeking a dependable, organized, and hands-on Logistics Specialist to join our Emergency Management team. This position helps ensure the people, equipment, supplies, and resources needed during emergencies are ready when our community needs them most.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in emergency management, logistics, supply chain, public administration, emergency services, business administration, or a related field and two years of related experience; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Utah driver license and ability to meet County driving requirements.
  • FEMA ICS-100, ICS-200, IS-700, and IS-800 must be completed within six months of hire if not already completed.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification
  • FEMA emergency logistics coursework
  • ICS-300/400
  • EOC or Incident Management Team logistics experience

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, order, track, stage, and document emergency resources and supplies.
  • Maintain emergency equipment, inventory, deployable kits, and readiness records.
  • Move, deploy, recover, and assist with emergency response equipment, including trailers, generators, tents, and other specialized equipment.
  • Support Emergency Operations Center (EOC) logistics and resource coordination.
  • Assist during wildfires, natural disasters, hazardous materials incidents, major events, and other emergencies.
  • Participate in emergency planning, exercises, training, and preparedness programs.
  • Work with fire districts, municipalities, government agencies, vendors, and community partners.
  • Assist with community preparedness education and outreach.
