About The Position

This role involves overseeing and managing domestic warehouse and transload operations, providing operational oversight and process management for the Century domestic product offering. The specialist will assist in developing Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs), identifying necessary resources, and staying informed about market activity to minimize negative impacts. A key aspect of the role is to deliver on commitments, enhance customer perception of Century, and utilize technology like VIZIV to improve team efficiency. The specialist will also investigate and implement methods to streamline operations, reduce waste, improve efficiency with 3PL service providers, and increase Century domestic revenue and gross margin. Additionally, the role includes assisting with new domestic logistics account implementations and onboarding, understanding and establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure customer expectations are met, and ensuring new accounts are implemented on time and within budget. The specialist will manage available 3PL resources and logistics partners, facilitate effective team interaction, share knowledge with other Century team members, and foster a positive working environment through collaboration and teamwork. A significant part of the role is ensuring 3PL partners meet and exceed customer service standards and expectations as defined by individual customer SLAs, attending customer meetings, reviewing customer processes for continuous improvement, and conducting job duties with service and quality in mind. The specialist will respond to inquiries promptly and efficiently, assist Century in meeting its mission to create responsive and customized logistics services, act as a Century advocate, and build/enhance customer relationships. The role also involves ensuring services are delivered in line with contracted carrier costs, managing services to ensure contracted providers deliver within SLA, and identifying opportunities to reduce costs and enhance gross margin.

Requirements

  • Supply Chain or Logistics Experience a plus
  • Bachelors Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or relative field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively conduct face to face meetings with customers
  • Strong analytical skills a must
  • Intermediate or Advanced Excel
  • B2B Customer Service Experience
  • Highly organized individual with excellent time management skills
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage CDDS domestic warehouse and transload operations and customers as assigned.
  • Provide operational oversight and process management of the Century domestic product offering.
  • Assist in the development of a Standard Operational Procedures (SOP’s) for all accounts and define the scope of services to be delivered.
  • Identify necessary resources for success to deliver and execute on customers’ requirements.
  • Keep abreast of market activity and position CDDS to minimize any negative impact.
  • Deliver and execute on commitments and business attained to further enhance the customers’ view of Century and our reputation in this space.
  • Utilize technology (VIZIV) to improve team efficiency.
  • Investigate and implement ways to streamline the operations.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve operational efficiency with our 3PL service providers and improve Century domestic revenue and gross margin.
  • Assist with new domestic logistics account implementations and onboarding.
  • Understand Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for each account to ensure customer expectations and CDDS deliverables are clear and outlined. Establish and define KPI’s that are meaningful and drive service performance and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure new accounts are implemented on time and within budget.
  • Manage available 3PL resources and logistics partners to accommodate business growth.
  • Facilitate effective team interaction. Share knowledge and expertise with the other Century team members to ensure service integrity and cross-functional knowledge. Where appropriate, expand views and knowledge of other core Century offerings (NVOCC, international logistics, OCM).
  • Foster a positive working environment by actively demonstrating an attitude of collaboration, teamwork and quality. Acknowledge and appreciate each team member’s contributions.
  • Ensure 3PL partners meet and exceed customer service standards and expectations as defined by individual customer SLA’s (service level agreements).
  • Attend customer meetings as needed.
  • Review customer processes and suggest opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct job duties with service and quality in mind. Respond to all inquiries (phone, email, other) in a courteous, prompt and efficient manner.
  • Assist Century in meeting the company’s mission to create the most responsive and customized logistics services available in the market.
  • Be a Century advocate, both internally and externally in projecting a professional image of self and the Company.
  • Build and enhance Century’s customer relationships by establishing a positive rapport with key contacts.
  • Ensure services are delivered in line with contracted carrier costs.
  • Manage services and execution to ensure the contracted provider is delivering within SLA.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost and enhance gross margin.
