About The Position

Coordinate the operation of assigned stockroom functions, ensuring that all materials are processed in a responsive manner and adhere to corporate quality and safety standards. Provide work direction to employees in policies, procedures and safety regulations. This role involves monitoring the receiving, stocking, disbursement, and/or shipping of material, ensuring accurate and timely paperwork and system transactions. The position requires making high-impact decisions affecting material flow and handling of high-dollar inventory, establishing priorities, planning and assigning work, and providing input on employee performance. The Logistics Specialist Lead will train new personnel, identify skills training requirements, and develop operational improvements. They will ensure prompt customer service, analyze problems, and initiate corrective actions. Additionally, they will audit departments to ensure procedures are followed, ensure stockroom material conforms to FAA, GAC Quality Control, and departmental procedures, and direct employees to deliver material within specified time limits. The role involves interfacing with other departments to ensure inventory control integrity and accuracy of assigned areas, potentially overseeing Tool Crib activities, and ensuring timely cycle counts. The position also includes performing weekly safety audits, overseeing special projects like Lean Manufacturing and 5S, assisting in developing work schedules, and supporting a continuous improvement culture.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 7 years experience in stockroom, warehouse or inventory control activities.
  • 2 years progressive responsibility and recognized leadership qualities.
  • CDI qualified for Customer Support.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Must have proficiency in inventory systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Must have highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Able to effectively interact with all levels of management, technical and non-technical.
  • Individual will have heavy customer contact.
  • On feet most of shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the receiving, stocking, disbursement, and/or shipping of material, ensuring that all paperwork and system transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Make high impact decisions effecting material flow (performance to schedule) and handling of high dollar inventory.
  • Establish priorities to ensure efficient operations; plans and assigns work, provides input about employee performance, recommends recognition, rewards, and disciplinary actions as required.
  • Train newly assigned personnel and retrains employees on all material handling procedures.
  • Identifies skills training requirements for assigned personnel and initiates as required.
  • Develop operational and organizational improvements; coordinates implementation with effected parties.
  • Ensure prompt and responsive customer service for applicable material processes supporting operations.
  • Analyze problems and initiates corrective action as required.
  • Audit departments to ensure procedures are followed by each employee.
  • Ensure that all stockroom material conforms to FAA, GAC Quality Control and departmental procedures.
  • Direct employees to deliver material within specified time limits.
  • Interface with other departments to ensure integrity of inventory control; responsible for inventory accuracy of assigned area or function (high dollar and high volume).
  • For specific sites, responsible for day to day Tool Crib activities.
  • Where applicable, ensure that cycle counts are performed in a timely manner.
  • Perform weekly safety audits and ensures that all areas meet safety requirements.
  • Oversee special projects (Lean Manufacturing, 5S, visual management, etc.) and ensures procedures are implemented and followed.
  • Assist in developing work schedules and methods to improve efficiency of operations.
  • Support a continuous improvement culture including lean principles, sustainability initiatives, ergonomic improvements, safety and cross functional teams.
