In your future role as a Logistics Specialist II, you will Completion of the daily modal logistics activities including shipment planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting for assigned respective mode of transport in alignment with cost and service target. Perform all transportation planning, executing, and monitoring for domestic road transportation according to defined processes and targets. Conduct transportation planning activities including capacity planning, shipment and fleet planning, carrier selection, routing, scheduling, tendering, and load building. Complete shipping documentation and coordinate with site logistics to execute shipments and gather necessary documentation. Monitor shipments and resolve exceptions as they arise. Track and monitor logistics provider, customer, and organization logistics KPIs and cost performance. Support freight cost payment, management, and invoicing. Maintain relationships with logistics providers and support Road Logistics Supervisor in conducting carrier performance reviews. Identify frequency and cause of service failures and work with Road Logistics to develop plans to identify solutions. Support acquisition of road transport capacity including spot booking. Support process improvement efforts as directed by the Road Logistics Supervisor. Lead model Nouryon Values to always include driving code of conduct compliance. Dependent on the volume of shipments, the Logistics Specialist may be assigned tasks to support other modes than the assigned main mode as well. Travel as needed to visit Nouryon sites, and carrier terminals. Possess considerable knowledge of INCOTERMS, documentation and cross border transportation requirements. Willing to work after-hours to support 24-7 sites

Requirements

  • Experienced in analysis utilizing multiple software’s such as Excel/PowerBI/Tableau.
  • Able to use data to support decision making and develop solutions to present to leaders.
  • Outstanding in communication skills and ability to communicate with various levels and functions within the organization, including global team members and third parties.
  • Able to support process improvement initiatives while balancing daily responsibilities.
  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in logistics / supply chain.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in performing logistics activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and quickly develop a solution.
  • Experience with carrier relationship management and performance evaluations.
  • Strong understanding of the domestic road transport market.
  • Strong working knowledge and history of using computers and programs specific to logistics (SAP, TMS, WMS) and to general business management (MS Excel, Word).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field from 4-year accredited college or university preferred.
  • Experience with chemical companies is preferred.
  • Experience with Export Declaration is a plus.
