About The Position

Brewer Science, Inc. is seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Logistics Specialist I or II in Rolla, MO. The Logistics Specialist/Analyst is responsible for handling the logistics procedures for the organization, dealing with goods preparation, shipping receipts, and shipment deliveries. This role involves processing orders, preparing goods, receiving shipments, and shipping deliveries, ensuring all transactions are within the allotted schedule. The position oversees shipments, ensuring alignment with expected quality and quantity, maintains accurate inventory records, produces reports, and adheres to policies and standards, always working to enhance practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience (for Logistics Specialist II).
• An equivalent combination of education and experience (for Logistics Specialist II).
• Maintain DOT/IATA Certification via successful renewal every two years.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments of raw materials and supplies.
• Safely load and unload trucks and trailers, following established procedures and safety protocols.
• Sort, scan, and stock receivables.
• Inspect received items for damage, discrepancies, or defects.
• Sampling of inbound raw chemicals.
• Use applicable computer programs to ensure all items are shipped in a timely, and accurate manner.
• Review, verify, and follow customer shipping instructions and prepare outgoing shipments by packaging products securely and applying appropriate labeling.
• Monitor incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipment per customer requirements.
• Communicate and coordinate with other departments, as required, to complete assigned responsibilities to meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Collaborate and work cross-functionally with material handling, import/export, purchasing, procurement, and others to build and maintain meaningful relationships.
• Accurately record inventory levels and update databases and inventory systems.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of shipping and receiving areas.
• Obtain DOT/IATA Certification within 90 days of employment.
• Comply with all applicable transportation regulations, international trade regulations, and company policies and procedures.
• Report incidents or accidents to departmental leadership and safety, as applicable.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks to move materials within the facility.
• Coordinate with production/manufacturing teams to prioritize material movements according to production schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of material movements and transactions using computerized inventory systems.
• Monitor requisitions, inventory, and systems and notify leadership of any issues or discrepancies.
• Plan and coordinate inbound and/or outbound shipments to optimize transportation efficiency and minimize costs.
• Identify and recommend opportunities for improvements and efficiency to leadership.
• Participate in inventory cycle counts and physical inventory checks as required.
