About The Position

MedSpeed is a healthcare logistics company that partners with healthcare organizations to transport medical supplies, specimens, and other materials. The Logistics Service Representative/Medical Driver safely transports lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials in a company-owned vehicle. The role is based in Houston, Texas, with the vehicle picked up and dropped off daily around the Westchase area. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:45 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., at $15.00 per hour. Training is provided through MedSpeed’s Blue Shirt Certified program.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver’s license for 3 years.
Excellent driving history.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with and ability to adapt to technology.
Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, depending on location and local mandates.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, lift items off storage racks, and walk and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

Safely drive and transport medical and related materials in a company-owned vehicle.
Load and unload the vehicle using appropriate equipment.
Use a handheld scanning device to track items throughout the transportation cycle.
Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
Drive safely and courteously.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
Build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
