About The Position

We are a leading, national consulting firm that provides compassionate, full-spectrum emergency management services including planning and preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation services to the public and private sectors before, during and after a natural disaster or catastrophic event. Our mission is to provide compassionate consulting services to local, state, federal, and industry clients, active in disaster response, recovery, and preparedness. We will be on time, on target, and on budget with the services aligned to the evolving threats and hazards facing our nation. The position will be guided by ACDC’s Corporate Values Platform in all activities. This role will be onsite at the designated Emergency Operations Center for the duration of the mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or other applicable field.
  • Experience and knowledge of working within the Incident Command Framework at state or federal levels.
  • Experience with financial management applications.
  • Experience working in an Emergency Operations Center or disaster response, including at least 2 activations or exercises in a supervisory or key support capacity.
  • Capable of critical decision-making in a highly charged and dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information.
  • Capable of multi-tasking when necessary.
  • Strong familiarity with state and local governments is necessary.
  • Excellent critical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and self-motivated.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong desire to help people.
  • Ability to be flexible and make quick decisions as disasters change and develop.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsored visa is required.
  • Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
  • IS-100, IS-200, ICS-300, ICS-400 IS-700, IS-800, E/G/L-0191, E/L-0958, O-0305 training courses must be completed prior to requesting the task book.

Nice To Haves

  • Five or more years professional experience in emergency management.
  • Master’s degree in Emergency Management or a related field.
  • Certified Emergency Manager (CEM)
  • Proficient with Web EOC
  • ICS position-specific certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Providing overall management and support to facilities, services, and material in support of the incident.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of the Incident Action Plan (IAP) and activating and supervising the Branches and Units within the Logistics Section.
  • Overseeing and directing the activities of the Support Branch, and the Mutual Aid Branch.
  • Coordinating with the State Logistics Response Center (SLRC) to prioritize support requirements, identify hardest-hit counties, and provide mission guidance.
  • Collaborating with ESF-6 and NGOs to rapidly deploy field kitchens and cantinas.
  • Ensuring ESF-7 DMS secures land or buildings through lease, RRF, or MOA for staging areas, forward operating bases, base camps, warehouses, or to replace damaged or destroyed facilities.
  • Coordinating with ESF-11 to project and procure food, water, and ice needs.
  • Working with the National Guard to support Logistics Staging Area (LSA) operations.
  • Coordinating with ESF-19 Fuels on fueling provisions for the response effort.
  • Assisting on portions of projects and ensuring all aspects are completed as outlined in the contract scope of work and timeline.
  • Attending meetings and conference calls with clients.
  • Maintaining currency of and compliance with applicable state and federal policies, procedures, and guidance documents for applicable roles.
  • Providing service and support for assigned resources.
  • Communicating changes in logistical support to incident resources.
  • Evaluating and monitoring current situation to determine if present plan of action will meet incident objectives.
  • Participating in the preparation of the IAP or relevant plan.
  • Reviewing tactical plans for operational periods.
  • Advising on current capabilities and limitations for service and support.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.
