About The Position

The Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring the company has a robust supply chain and adequate inventory to meet return on investment and on-time delivery goals. This role involves reviewing and maintaining the ERP system (Plex), resolving projected outages, identifying and developing key suppliers, and coordinating with various stakeholders including purchasing agents, vendors, competitors, and customers. The manager will implement and maintain replenishment systems for critical materials, develop plans to accommodate business growth or contraction, and improve upon existing MRP systems. Additionally, the role involves working with Purchasing to establish pricing agreements, maintaining supplier rating systems, and developing processes to reduce costs in components, packaging, and freight. The position directs the Material Analyst/Scheduler, Master Production Scheduler, Inventory Control Group Leads, Customer Service Representatives, and Production Coordinator to ensure efficient operations, accurate inventory management, timely production, and excellent customer service. This includes managing forecasts, resolving past due issues, analyzing demand, overseeing inventory accuracy, monitoring inventory levels, preparing production plans and schedules, meeting inventory targets, managing customer releases and requirements, and resolving customer complaints.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or other associated business-related degree.
  • 3 - 5 years operational experience in the Automotive or Manufacturing industry.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for both internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to use common office software systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • 1 - 3 years Direct Report Management experience preferred.
  • Plex ERP software knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a robust supply chain and adequate inventory to support company goals for return on investment and on-time delivery performance.
  • Review and maintain ERP (Plex), resolve projected outages, identify and develop key suppliers, and coordinate between purchasing agents, vendors, competitors, and customers.
  • Implement and maintain a replenishment system for critical purchased materials.
  • Develop and implement plans and systems to accommodate growth or retraction, and identify shortcomings of MRP to develop improvement systems.
  • Work with Purchasing to identify and implement pricing agreements, including long-term price agreements, to save or control material and service costs.
  • Maintain supplier rating systems.
  • Develop processes to reduce the cost of components, packaging, and freight.
  • Direct the Material Analyst/Scheduler to confirm forecasted orders, resolve past due production components issues, analyze customer demand for leveling operations, manage inventory with scheduling, prevent customer short shipments, and ensure timely and accurate inventory transactions.
  • Oversee Inventory Control Group Leads to ensure timely, accurate, efficient inventory movement and transaction, and supervise material handlers.
  • Oversee the Receiving Clerk to ensure timely, accurate receipts.
  • Review inventory for accuracy and implement and maintain systems to improve accuracy.
  • Measure and monitor domestic and international inventory levels.
  • Maintain and monitor inactive, obsolete, and service inventory levels.
  • Direct the Master Production Scheduler to plan and prepare the Master Production Plan, prepare and distribute daily production schedules, meet budgeted targets for finished goods and WIP inventory levels, review customer demand, resolve scheduling issues with production supervisors, minimize excess and obsolete inventory, oversee Customer Service Representatives for customer releases and EDI/DDL/ASN requirements, maintain customer relations, resolve customer complaints, and oversee the Production Coordinator for timely packing and shipping.
  • Perform all other duties required by management.
