POSITION SUMMARY Effectively performs all necessary duties of various Logistics positions at a high level to meet Logistics department needs and the needs of our clients. Positions covered may include any or all of the following: Courier, Messenger, Multi-route Courier, Messenger, Shipping and Receiving Clerk and Dispatcher. In the absence of the supervisor, provides daily operational oversight for the shift. Provides technical and/or procedural support to all positions within the department. May be responsible for a technical and/or administrative area of focus. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS Job involves frequent communication in person, by phone or radio, and in writing, driving a car for long periods of time and making frequent stops for pickup and delivery. Ability to lift, push and carry up to 50 pounds. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to operate company vehicle and apply the Smith Driving principles. Familiarity with all routes. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills both on the phone and in person. Strong customer service skills. Knowledge of and ability to operate a personal computer. Strong training, coaching and leadership skills.
