About E&ES: Caterpillar’s Electrification & Energy Solutions (E&ES) Division will focus on delivering advanced electrified power train, zero-emissions products/technologies, and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. Focus areas include batteries, fuel cells, motors, inverters, micro grid controllers, charging, energy storage systems, lifecycle solutions/services and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries. Job Summary: The Logistics Engineer is responsible for supporting the design and implementation of all related logistics processes, machinery & equipment, storage concepts and parts shipments. They will coordinate and provide continuous improvement for lithium-ion battery shipments, as well as battery powered machinery and parts in support of E+ES.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering
  • Experience with TOCs, SAP, MACH1, and / or Coupa
  • Experience as a buyer, working within operations or with inventory management

Responsibilities

  • Order packaging and transportation solutions for new product introductions, battery shipments, and work on other supply chain improvements related to transportation and packaging.
  • Communicate with existing facilities on transportation issues related to receiving, warehousing, and/or line side delivery.
  • Handle battery recycling activities
  • Creating/updating transportation systems to ship batteries and non-hazardous equipment
  • Order packaging via purchase orders
  • Maintain packaging inventory levels
  • Utilize and navigate Mach 1
  • Generate process improvement ideas
  • Utilize NextGen/Guided Buy/Coupa
  • Shipment tracking and data entry
  • Freight charge analysis
