About The Position

I2X Technologies is seeking a Logistics Engineer to support the design, analysis, and continuous improvement of logistics operations within our Research & Development (R&D) environment. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Project Engineering, Configuration Management, and Program Leadership to ensure efficient, cost-effective movement and auditing of materials and equipment (including receiving and tracking of software) to support our facility and program infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • In lieu of Bachelor's degree, at least 4 years experience with logistics, supply chain optimization, or operations engineering (internships or full-time), will be required.
  • Familiarity with logistics modeling tools, simulation platforms, or data analytics software i.e. AutoCAD, Visio and/or Sunbird.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and the ability to translate findings into actionable improvements.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or process-improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced engineering environment.
  • Top Secret Clerance required with the ability to obtain SCI.
  • US Citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional experience supporting engineering or R&D operations.
  • Knowledge of project material planning, inventory optimization, or material-handling systems.
  • Experience with ERP or MRP systems

Responsibilities

  • Analyze current logistics workflows and identify areas for efficiency, cost savings, and improved reliability.
  • Update material tracking system of records for reporting and record-keeping.
  • Audit as-built designs and asset management systems to physical configurations, to include Government Owned and Government Furnished Property (GFP).
  • Develop and implement logistics solutions related to transportation, inventory control, warehousing, material handling, and distribution.
  • Partner with hardware engineering, systems engineering, configuration management, and procurement on planning, forecasting, and material-movement strategies.
  • Receive incoming material, physically verify that all ordered parts are present and correct, and record receipt details in the relevant system of record.
  • Perform obsolescence planning and tracking to ensure material availability and lifecycle sustainment.
  • Plan and lead annual material disposition events for the turn-in of excess, obsolete, failed/broken hardware to Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).
  • Support lifecycle management activities including tracking component lifespans, identifying end-of-life risks, and recommending suitable replacements or redesigns.
  • Create process documentation, including workflow diagrams, material movement plans, and system requirements.
  • Use analytics and modeling tools to evaluate logistics performance and support decision-making.
  • Support facility layout planning, material routing strategies, and equipment utilization studies.
  • Participate in continuous-improvement efforts using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and internal quality standards.
