About The Position

The Logistics Engineer, Journeyman supports the NAVAIR Sustainment Group (NSG) Product Support Integration Management (PSMI) Department in its acquisition and in-service logistics support of weapon systems, systems of systems, sub-systems, and support equipment for PEO (U/W) and PMX 259. This role performs assigned functional duties independently and provides logistics and engineering technical support that helps sub-contractors, program management, and Government customers effectively and economically support the manufacture, modification, and sustainment of assigned weapons systems and equipment.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in Engineering or a related Science discipline (aerospace, civil, computer, electrical, electronics, industrial, mechanical, or nuclear engineering).
  • Six (6) years of directly relevant work experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree, or an Associate's degree plus four (4) years of relevant work experience.
  • Three (3) to ten (10) years of experience in an engineering or logistics position.
  • Ability to perform standard engineering and logistics analysis, design review, and test-support tasks independently, with general oversight from senior engineering staff on complex or high-visibility items.
  • Working familiarity with configuration management standards (SAE-EIA-649), systems engineering processes, and Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements.
  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) at time of hire and maintain required Information Awareness Training.
  • Must be able to work at the classification level of SECRET and comply with NISPOM and DoD information-security requirements.
  • This position will require U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Naval Weapon Systems or NAVAIR programs is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Review engineering data and help create or update schematics, drawings, specifications, and parts lists. Support design reviews, configuration audits, and technical documentation efforts.
  • Set up and perform tests using standard and modified equipment and procedures. Record results, identify issues, analyze data, and prepare test reports.
  • Support research and development projects under the guidance of senior engineers. Assist with prototype development, testing, redesigns, and reporting findings.
  • Help design and coordinate test setups to evaluate new concepts and system modifications. Assess feasibility by considering performance, cost, and operational requirements.
  • Assist with logistics planning by reviewing customer requirements, contract changes, and engineering updates. Maintain databases, analyze data, and prepare supporting documentation.
  • Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Notices of Revision (NORs), and Specification Change Notices (SCNs) and recommend disposition consistent with NAVAIR configuration-management policy and execution/supportability criteria.
  • Participate in Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs), Reliability Control Boards, Functional and Physical Configuration Audits, and related technical forums; document findings and recommend corrective actions to Government stakeholders.
