About The Position

This role is responsible for collaborating with transportation providers to ensure prompt shipments and pick-ups are made to meet customer due dates in the most accurate and cost-effective way. The position involves coordinating and negotiating freight rates, monitoring outbound shipments, communicating issues and delays, reviewing shipping documents, preparing Bill of Ladings, and developing efficient supply chain processes. The role also includes entering receiver/manifests of material, managing a shipping schedule, reading material certifications, and ensuring smooth warehouse traffic flow.

Requirements

Experience in a Logistics related field
Knowledge using computers and other common office equipment
High School diploma or GED
Ability to read, write, and comprehend in English.
Able to multitask and stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Regularly required to stand for prolonged periods; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Required to talk or hear.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with transportation providers to ensure prompt shipments and pick-ups meet customer due dates accurately and cost-effectively.
Coordinate and negotiate freight rates with transportation providers.
Monitor all outbound shipments to ensure orders are in transit as scheduled.
Communicate any issues, delays, or budget restraints with the sales team.
Review purchase orders and shipping documents for accuracy.
Prepare Bill of Ladings and send finalized shipping documents to billing.
Develop processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized.
Enter receivers/manifests of material from steel mills via Rail or Truck.
Manage a shipping schedule to accurately show sales/billing daily shipments.
Read and understand material certifications.
Manage and ensure traffic flow through the warehouse is working.
Arrange and coordinate the shipping of product to customers in accordance with planned shipping schedules and in a cost-effective manner.
