About The Position

The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for providing high quality client service support, monitoring and reporting of customer and vendor performance. The Logistics Coordinator will act as primary means of contact for Logistics & Trucking (L&T) customer base as well as internal Nippon Express departments and will be responsible for maintaining various forms of communication including e-mail, telephone, internal TMS systems and verbal between Nippon external and internal customers as well as L & T staff.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years’ Experience in 3PL, load brokering operations or dispatch operations
  • General knowledge of the freight forwarding CIFFA environment
  • Ability to provide quality service for our customers by understanding their needs and requirements
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong time management; able to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word

Nice To Haves

  • TDG certification is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Arrange transportation and facilitate the movement of goods based on customer demands, including cross-border, domestic, FTL, LTL, white grove, oversize, and dangerous goods etc.
  • Coordinate pickup and delivery orders with trucking companies, airlines and/or bonded facilities
  • Ensure accuracy on shipments and minimize risk of delay by communicating with customers and vendors
  • Prompt and accurate communication with customers, external and internal branches, and sub-contractors
  • Track and trace orders and report any anomalies
  • Provide excellent customer service with prompt handling of quotes, orders, and sales inquiries
  • Advise clients on transportation and payment methods, including the issuance of freight bills and invoices to brokers and/or customer. Including proper record retention and filing of documentation
  • Filing of invoices, orders, PODs, and collect payments for the same
  • Collect, audit and accurately enter carrier qualification information
  • Reconcile/balance customer accounts and ledgers by collection and analyzing account information
  • Assist manager with ongoing improvement of systems, projects, procedures and processes
  • Various other duties as may be Required
