About The Position

As part of HVAC Cooling, SPX Cooling Technologies is a leader in high quality industrial HVAC equipment used to cool large facilities like hospitals, data centers, and power plants. With cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units, companies rely on brands like Marley, Recold, and SGS to provide comfort and mission critical and industrial cooling solutions. SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Logistics Coordinator I, you will be overseeing and monitoring the flow of materials throughout the plant. Additionally, you will coordinate all aspects of inbound and outbound logistics. The successful Logistics Coordinator I will have a strong analytical mindset, function with a sense of urgency and possess the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.

Requirements

  • 2 Years in Logistics, Material Handling or Inventory Controls
  • High School diploma
  • Basic level Excel, Word

Nice To Haves

  • Detail oriented with the ability to troubleshoot and improve processes
  • TMS Enterprise Shipping System Web based App.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of warehouse management
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules or demands

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with Project Management, Logistics Management, Shipping Clerks, Material Managers, and Carriers for the Olathe plant’s outbound shipments
  • Manage daily parts/tower staging and outbound flow of materials
  • Confirm all manufactured and purchased parts are available for timely shipment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as production, scheduling, and quality, to ensure smooth material flow and timely delivery to meet production schedules
  • Supplemental and Tower Extra logistical execution
  • Secure and oversee shipping arrangements of units, including working with outside companies to secure trucking and containers
  • Collaborate with Sales when arranging shipment
  • Provide up to date information to customer or end user as to delivery dates and times
  • Perform system functions related to shipping
  • Manage BOL and quality photos of each shipment
  • Assist with compliance requirements and document retention
  • Measure and improve On Time Delivery for aftermarket, package towers, field erected products, and inter-plant orders
  • Primary backup for other Shipping office personnel in their absence
  • Other duties as assigned
