Amentum is seeking a Logistics Coordination and Safety Lab Test Technician for its Technical Support Services Group in Dearborn, Michigan. The position primarily coordinates shipping and receiving and materials within a test laboratory, while also supporting technicians with safety testing. Approximately 60–70% of the role is focused on logistics coordination, and approximately 30% is spent supporting testing activities. The role involves organizing parts before and after tests, coordinating with engineers, customers, material coordinators, laboratory personnel, dock personnel, and management, and determining whether tested parts should be shipped, scrapped, or stored. The technician also prepares shipping documents, tags and organizes outgoing parts, maintains shipping records for off-site storage, and follows laboratory safety rules. Testing support includes test execution, data collection, and post-test removal of equipment and components across impact, sled, airbag, and seatbelt testing areas. Work is normally Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with possible overtime and weekend testing coverage. Shift assignments may change, including potential afternoon shifts for several months, so flexibility in work hours and days is required. Work is performed approximately 80% indoors and 20% outdoors. The position involves manual labor, material-handling equipment, lifting, and required safety equipment. A valid state driver's license, dependable transportation, and passing pre-employment screening, a PMHV exam, and a background check are required.
